I am asking, allies, please do not purchase this for yourself. It is disingenuous to wear this symbol given the history and the significance.
This is a Trans Only design.
If you don’t understand why, this isn’t for you.
During the Holocaust, the queer and trans prisoners in the concentration camps were made to wear a pink triangle badge in the same way that Jews were made to wear the star of David to identify them to the guards.
Most of the 15000 queer prisoners who made it to the concentration camps died from exhaustion.
After world war 2, when the concentration camps were liberated, the new German states, Austria, and allies refused to recognize homosexuals as victims of the Nazi regime. Many of them were returned to prison to finish out their sentences.
The pink triangle was re-appropriated in the 1970s as a liberation symbol amongst queer and trans people and has regained popularity recently as Trump shared a photo of it crossed out on Truth Social. It was taken down but not before our community saw it and understood the significance.
He intends to criminalize queer and trans people again. The target has been on the trans community in most recent years and the uptick in transphobia and legislation targeting trans people is only the beginning as we are already seeing some states come after same sex marriage.
You cannot erase an entire minority.
We have always existed and we always will.
